Meet Carolyn

Discover Carolyn's vision for Lincoln City, her commitment to the community, and why she is the right choice for City Council.

Why Carolyn is running for City Council

I'm running for City Council because I believe Lincoln City needs practical leadership that listens to residents, asks questions, looks at the facts, and makes responsible decisions with taxpayer dollars.

My 35 years working in insurance and claims have taught me how to evaluate information, assess risk, solve problems, and make difficult decisions responsibly. I believe these skills translate directly to serving on City Council.

I believe the Council should set clear policy, empower the City Manager to manage, and make decisions with the people—not around them. My priorities include maintaining our infrastructure, supporting local businesses, responsible spending, accountability, and making sure residents understand how and why their money is being spent.

My commitment to this community isn't new. I have volunteered with local food pantries, the LCPD Citizen Academy, Coastal Support Services, community service projects, and organizations supporting children.

Carolyn's focus for Lincoln City

I care deeply about improving and addressing key areas in Lincoln City:

  1. Infrastructure and basic city services: Taking care of our streets, water, sewer, parks, and other city assets before problems become more expensive.
  2. Fiscal responsibility and accountability: Prioritizing needs, using existing resources wisely, and making sure residents understand where their tax dollars are going before asking them for more.
  3. A strong local economy and community: Supporting local businesses, encouraging responsible economic development, and making Lincoln City a place where people can afford to live, work, and thrive.

Experience and qualities for City Council

I bring 35 years of experience working in insurance and claims, where my job requires me to listen, gather and evaluate facts, assess risk, solve problems, and make difficult decisions responsibly.

I believe in asking questions and understanding the facts before making a decision. I'm practical, direct, and willing to listen to people with different viewpoints.

My years of community involvement have also kept me connected to the people and organizations that make Lincoln City what it is.

I believe a City Council member should be accountable to the people, responsible with taxpayer dollars, and willing to ask tough questions when necessary.

"I want a city government that is accountable, transparent, and willing to listen before making major decisions."
